Anthony sees himself as a "no-nonsense artist," however, his beautifully executed work demonstrates not only his skill but also his rare talent to express mood and emotion through the use of paint. His studies of Welsh ponies or sheep as they stand, poised before flight, in moorland flooded with clear rain washed light against a darkening sky, show a rare genius and mastery of his art.

Anthony's abilities and affinity with Welsh landscape are illustrated by the subtle use of colour and shading depicting the variable moods of that much painted subject Carreg Cennen Castle. In watercolour and acrylic he is able to convey a mythic perspective to this work which has all the appearance of an Arthurian legend -mists swirl intriguingly at the valley floor.. ..a moody sky stained red at sunset gives a brooding haunting aura to his subject matter.
